We don’t know what the future holds for us even when we have the best laid out plans for it. All we do is hope and pray our plans manifest.
An idea had been brewing in my mind for a while and I guess the time was right for it. It was Vi’s birthday!
When you have awesome friends, it’s easy to get them together for an amazing time.
We celebrated Vi’s birthday over the weekend and it was a mind blowing experience.
I would like to officially welcome Anguah and Yaw into our circles. They’ve always been part of us but have never been present in any of our meetings.
I drove to Anguah’s place to pick her up and we went to meet Vi at Marina mall (picked up the cake as well).
The party started in the car on our way to the party house. Kofi Kinaata’s Play had us hopping and throwing our hands in the air. Singing along happily laced with loud laughs at some of the words of the song. I know I laugh loud but the squeaky laughs of Anguah is so funny. It has moved past annoying to a laughter I love to hear and sometimes, I honestly miss it.
The party; it started with history lessons and we were schooled on some part of history we didn’t know existed and some history which had been intentionally left out of our school curriculum.
We learn everywhere even at parties.
Play us some music DJ Chilombo and let the real party begin! Enough of history lessons(we will get back to it on another day), girls want to have fun. We danced, sang along and laughed at ourselves. It was an enjoyable experience.
Our invited guests showed up and the party continued. It was an eventful celebration. Eating, drinking, dancing, singing, telling all sorts of jokes and the seemingly quiet one who nodded in beauty once in a while.
The remarkable moment came when one of our friends(Yaw) exclaimed “Unfathomable!” reacting to a story being told and this comment had us all in stitches. It was his facial expressions and demeanor. The night was fun filled and exuberant.
The energy was positive and the weather was cool and friendly. Cold winds swayed all around us, they were enjoying our company too. The stars and the moon had aligned with us to have fun.
Saying goodbye was hard but we promised each other we will do this as often as possible. Thank God for moments like this: nights we go to bed smiling on our pillows because the day was memorable.
We are grateful for the gift of life.
Until the next ‘Unfathomable Weekend’ or meeting, we hold the memories of this one dear.
