I can’t remember whose idea it was but since we both enjoyed watching ‘blended’ together, I guess naturally, we were drawn to other movies. London left the choice of movies to me and I didn’t mind because It was a perfect opportunity to introduce him to my favorite movies.
How we do it
We both set times for the date(keep in mind time differences). London is indeed playful. “I am coming to your house with yoghurt” (he texts).
Me: Why not wine?
Him: You have wine, it’s yoghurt you don’t have(no lies).
Sometimes I think it’s my alter ego being creative and funny with my imagination.
We text each other when we are ready to start and then we dive into our movie date, it’s me and my laptop in Ghana. London and his best friend, he’s always working on his laptop thus I tease him with it. I tell him that’s his best friend(we are yet to name his best friend).
Have a Plan B
We were supposed to watch Notting Hill but my hard drive gave up on me. I switched to P.S. I Love You. I was so relieved the second option was available as second choice.
We made fun of Daniel’s oddity and wits. There was a scene in the movie we both thought Holly and Gerry would make love and they didn’t(it was left to our imagination). I could tell London was disappointed. I was calling Denise his girl because he loved the way she was forthright with her search for a partner. She asked all the ‘right’ questions and sealed it with a kiss just to confirm if you were the one for her. When the movie ended, we both agreed a trip to Ireland would be awesome. We envied Holly and her mum and the green scenery which welcomed them.
Heads up; always get a back up movie.
So far, we’ve watched: Blended, Me Before You and P.s. I Love You.
This weekend, we have another movie date. I chose Notting Hill, starring Julia Robert and Hugh Grant (one of my favorites).
Virtual movie date in covid times is a fun adventure(with the right partner). I have tried it and I absolutely love it. What are you waiting for? My London? He is taken.
